Good Practice Notes (GPN) published by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) highlight good practice for the private sector in addressing specific social and environmental issues. They are regarded as a leading global resource for guiding sustainable private sector development and demonstrating good corporate governance.

ESSA was engaged by the IFC to help produce a GPN on environmental and social cumulative impact assessment and management (CIAM) for private sector developers in emerging markets. The GPN describes background information on cumulative effects, methodologies and a current state of practice of CIAM globally, while providing a common sense approach and process compliant with IFC performance standards requirements and best CIAM practices.
